Did Ruger plate any guns at the factory or were they sent out for this work? If sent out, would there be a record of this?

I'm seeing serial numbers above 11,000 on Ruger-57 listings in gunbroker. The shops in my area have yet to see one. Where are they all going?

I would also place the American 'Hysterical' Foundation offerings in the same boat along with the America Remembers stuff. At gun shows around here (Baltimore), I've heard dealers refer to them as 'ghetto guns'.
