My one and only classic, purchased here on this forum

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I am very happy with this combination, I did also get the original varnished walnut grips but think I'll keep the stag on :)

Thanks for the spelling correction, LOL, it really bugs me when I do that!

My one and only classic, purchased here on this forum

Thank you all for your comments, it really is a pleasure to hold...AND shoot. I don't have any safe queens and not looking to make this one. I took it out to the range yesterday and had a blast. Literally! The 44 specials felt like I was shooting a .38. The 44 Mag on the other hand was a...

My one and only classic, purchased here on this forum

Always wanted a classic didn't want to break the bank. Was able to purchase some absolutely beautiful Sambar grips from "Chance" and then a 1958 Flattop 44 Mag from Mike722. These guys were great and I'm mighty pleased. While its not a 10/10 it is fairly nice and I am a happy camper. Total cost...

How to convert a ruger XR3-RED into a XR3 frame

Sorry for the confusion, I should have included more info... The single six I have now is an SN#60-722xx and I believe was manufactured in the 70's. It does NOT have a transfer bar and that is why I assume its an OM. edit: also should note it is a 3 screw 5.5 inch barrel, no warning, and says...

Ruger Mark IV Video.....are my Mark IIs now obsolete???

That's awesome Tom and I am glad to hear it was so reasonable. I guess I must be jaded by the cost to patent something in the medical field. Maybe not so much to do the patent itself, but the cost to defend infringement (read theft) of the patent. As you know if you don't defend it, you lose it...

How to convert a ruger XR3-RED into a XR3 frame

I'm no gunsmith so excuse my ignorance. But what exactly is involved if I would like to take a Ruger Single Six which has a XR3-RED frame and convert it to use an XR3 frame. Simple? difficult? easy DIY refit? or best left for a licensed gunsmith? Thanks!

Ruger Mark IV Video.....are my Mark IIs now obsolete???

Well Tom, your situation is understood. And I think sending it out for what would be Beta testing on other units is a fine idea. I'm just surprised you didn't go and purchase a Mark I and II for your own testing. Given what it costs to patent, those two guns would be a drop in the bucket, no...

Lost my thread of "most accurate semi auto pistol"

My most accurate, trouble free, count on it every time, 9mm is my most homely gun...my Glock 17. You can knock its looks and the fact its plastic yadda yadda yadda, but the damned thing can shoot and do it well. This from a guy with 12 various Rugers...it is what it is. I try not to fight the...

WTB XR3 frame ruger .44 flatop preferred...shooter grade

I'd really like to get my hands on an older XR3 frame Ruger. My first preference would be a .44 Flattop but would also consider a 357 and even a Single Six. But it must be the XR3 frame and NOT the XR3-RED. Shooter grade preferred due to the fact I am not looking to break the bank. Let me know...

Ruger Mark IV Video.....are my Mark IIs now obsolete???

That is interesting, but the R&D is a bit suspect according to the website the HSS will work on the Mark III but they are not sure if it will work on the Mark I and II...it says to stay tuned to further developments. Lol, this one must really be done on a shoestring budget. I mean couldn't they...

    RUGER MARK IV

Normally, I wouldn't respond to a thread like this, but I have to agree with Cholo. I realize that people deal with grief in different ways, but, wow, its just so cold. I would humbly suggest some type of grief therapy before even entertaining the though of the Ruger situation. Good luck,
