hey i have the AR556 with the original stock with a magpul QD mount for a sling. after a trip to a gun show i came home with a clip on sling and a QD sling mount. the QD sling mount could easily pull out the magpul mount and the sling would not hook on to the stock ruger sling mount. the clip...

i have the same handguard and it is a pain to install but doable.
