I'd be all over a 1S in 348. How cool would that be? Maybe Ruger will be the second manufacturer to chamber the 348.

With the re-introduction of 348 ammunition, maybe Winchester will re-introduce the 71 or Ruger will bring out a 1S...

My dad has a Ruger 1911 in a 45 and it is the same way, more accurate than I'll ever be.

Yeah, I was being tongue in cheek. I love my 45-70 no1. Hunted with it last fall, unfortunately didn't shoot anything with it. I have toyed with getting a 458 LOTT just for kicks and grins...for now the 45-70 will have to do.

My big bore is only a 45-70. I would rather shoot that than my 35 Whelen. The 45-70 is a push, the Whelen hurts when shooting off a bench.

Everything is expensive these days. When you consider a nice SW revolver is near a grand, a $1500 street price on a high quality rifle is about right.

ABSOLUTELY. Would buy one in a heartbeat.....348 baby. How neat would that be to have a 71 and a No 1 in 348? Ruger could be the first to chamber the 348 after Winchester. To my knowledge, nobody else has done it except for maybe a custom job or two.
