I've always considered my myself a Ruger guy, mostly because I love single action revolvers. I have accumulated more S&W double action revolvers. All J frames or N frames.

Same guy just listed these. Says part of an estate sale. He doesn't know anything about them. 6" octagon .22LR & .44MAG. Anything is possible, but without any documentation I think they were cut down. What do you guys think? Special order? Cut down? Pretty neat looking for sure.

My LGS has a beautiful .22 mag S&W model 48-2 8" barrel that is calling my name. Something about the little magnum cartridge, has always appealed to me. I’ve also always wanted a .22magnum lever action. Sigh…… I need to get my .22 mag cylinder back onto my single six. Instead of lusting...

I paid close to $400 with shipping for mine. The 9mm and .45acp are both hard to find and are priced accordingly. It's rare now for any octagon barrel to sell for less than $275. They aren’t making anymore of them
