Mine (also post-2017 production) went on a walk in the foothills today - it's a great gun that shoots really well for me. I appear to have had better luck than my friend arfmel. :(

Just another photo - my New Model Bearcat converted to .22 Magnum by Hamilton Bowen some years back (Sack Peterson elk stocks). Fun walking around gun. I wore it to a wedding in Lincoln County a few years back . . .

In case anyone's interested . . . . Just got a good deal on one of the new release SP-101s in 9x19. It shot well: small groups exactly at POA with any lighter ammo; larger groups above POA with 147-grainers. The following chrono data is from my range visit at the Albuquerque City Range...

My SP did a fine job on a vigorous hike up the wall of Bear Canyon and over the ridge into Embudito Canyon just now - yep, the GP is a great gun but I'm not missing that extra round (or the extra heft) of the GP on these walks. And that Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake is a great way to carry it.

I had the gun out at the range yesterday just as a "fun" gun, to spell me on some ammo testing I was doing on three other guns. It was a treat to shoot the Speed Six with .38 +Ps. :)
