    What type of wood?

+1. That color "tone" and straight grain... That equals chestnut to me. That's some beautiful wood, and unfortunately rare these days if the American variety. There was a member selling American Chestnut single action grips here many years ago, carved from a salvaged beam out of an old house...

U.S. Law Shield - What happened today

For the record, MN is the same. "Bans Guns on Premises" signs have no legal repercussions unless you refuse to leave when asked. If you do that, it's trespassing which is a misdemeanor offense. Court house, schools, even post offices are different. Carry there and you have real problems.

    Single Six aftermarket sights

I have one on my Single Six coupled with a Bowen V notch rear sight. Also works just fine with a V notch blade for the standard single six rear sight housing. I need to get some sight paint for the bead, because it is so small that it tends to disappear in the autumn leaves and bark. However...

    77/44 with threaded barrel

Running silencers on 44 Magnum lever guns for hog hunting has become very popular. 300 to 400 grain subsonic loads are a good fit for the hunting style and cartridge. This is probably why. If I lived where there were pigs, with no limits, I'd be interested in packing that much quiet power.

Gnarly sambar stags on an Old Model SBH

That's a fantastic set of grips right there. You don't often find such nice bark on such a nicely matched set as those!

    Hand me down MKI

My RST-6 is one of my most accurate .22s. And if I'm honest, it actually outshoots both my K22 and my Single Six. Bet you are going to love putting more miles on that family gun. Congratulations on it becoming yours.

    Mark I sights

You make those yourself, D A Wood? I'd imagine painting the front site, and adding one of these would make a nice option to upgrade an old standard auto. Chad

    Smoothing A Security Six

Paulg, From what I understand, Clark Custom Guns still do work on the six series. If I have work done in the future, I'll probably be utilizing them. I haven't had work done by them, so can't speak from experience. But, what I can say is smiths who will work on the six series are few and far...

    removing light rust

I've had great luck using HAWKEYE#28's method. Copper penny and oiled cloth. In my experience, it leaves behind some white spots since the bluing is gone from the rust, but no further rust occurs. And, most importantly, no damage to the surrounding bluing. Chad
