What are the pros and cons of using FMJ ammunition in my SR9c?

Can anyone advise me on what grain amount is ideally suited for shooting in a new SR9c? Also, any sites offering the best value for purchasing 9mm ammunition? Finally, at a gun range, is there any downside on firing reloads? Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide. Edguzd
