Yes, they sometimes do. I have an older S&W and the barrel has turned a slightly purple shade while the rest of the gun hasn't. I had one gunshow "expert" argue me that my barrel had been reblued because of the color. It hasn't, it's just turned that way over the years.

I've owned both and prefer the slightly smaller size of the S&W. The only time I had LCR trigger issues was when I did it intentionally, but just the fact I could do it always kept a little bit of fear in the back of my head that it at least "could" happen when I wasn't trying to do it.

I've used that same box for a number of years now. No keys to lose, no batteries to go bad, and it kept my handgun fairly handy while keeping it safe from small children.

I agree the tang sites are great for shooting paper (plus look cool), but also prefer a receiver mounted peep sight for hunting.

I've had a couple and never liked them. Evidently a lot of other people didn't either or they wouldn't have stopped making them. But the gun dealers and horse traders in my area sure love them now.

I don't want mine loaded that hot. I had a 45 Blackhawk that I used to load to magnum status with 2400, but it eventually started getting loose. Of course all guns wear more the hotter the loads, but I now leave 45 Colts in the 45 Colt range and grab a 44 magnum or 454 if I want more power.
