    Ultralight?

I have one of the last years of production Mk-II Ultralites in 204 Ruger once I free floated the barrel it settled down and started grouping 0.5-0.6 inches for 5 shots at 100 yrds, I finally stopped trying to shrink the groups any further and started hunting varmints with it. Nice and light but...

Looking for a high end deer rifle....

If you check GunBroker and some distributers you could probably locate a NIB Ruger #1-AE 30-06 Centenial. These were a limited Ruger run of 500 etched and gold inlayed #1-As in 30-06 released in 2006. Many had above average walnut stocks and ought to fit your price range and heirloom status.

How come I never see any chatter about the #1 in 204?

I have a #1-V in 204 and a 77 MII All-weather Ultralight in 204 both are very accurate. The #1-V has shot 5 shot groups are under 0.3 inches at 100 yds with hand loads and the 77MII has been shooting 0.5 - 0.6 inch 5 shot groups. Ruger can obviously produce a good 204 barrel so I would think...

If you could have only ONE Ruger #1?

Sort of like potato chips "you can't have just one" But I can narrow the choice down to one of two. Either my #1-A 30-06 Springfield or #1-B 243 Winchester.

    Ruger #1 scope predicament

This will perhaps offend some Leupold lovers but I gave up on using Leupold scopes on a #1 35 years ago. At that time you had Leupolds with 2.8-3.0 inch eye relief. and no way to get the scope far enough to the rear to get a full FOV. Leupold has greatly improved their eye relief since then...

    Ruger #1 scope ring height

Ring finder at http://shopruger.com/searchscopering.asp Shows a mix of 4 and 5 height rings with some interesting ???? for example it shows the Stainless Varminter as standard with 5K rings but the blue Varminter standard with 4B rings.

    Ruger 77/22 Stock (22 HORNET)

The 77/22 Hornets with the laminated stock are the All Weather version in stainless steel, and the stock is more rounded than the one on the light weight rifles with the 20 inch barrel with the all walnut stock. The little Hornet case has been challenging to get good accuracy from but the...

Ruger No. 1 and 50 mm objective lenses...

I may have missed it but I don't think you mentioned where the problem is. Is the problem that the scope can't be positioned far enough to the rear because of the objective bell hitting the rib or the front ring hitting the objective bell or both, or is there another issue you want to solve?

Ruger No. 1 and 50 mm objective lenses...

    I have a Pentax 3.5x - 10x X 50 on my #1A 30-06 and a Burris 4.5x - 14x X 42mm AO on my #1V 204 Ruger neither scope has a barrel or rib clearance problem even with the flip off lens covers.

Touching up the wood finish on #1 and #3

+1 for Tru-oil I have used it on 30 year old #1 walnut and on 3 year old #1 laminated stocks with good results.

    77/22 hornet

The new polycarbonate tipped bullets and some new powders have significantly changed the 22 Hornet performance. 5of7 is right the little Hornet case had been difficult to get good accuracy from and to duplicate the modest factory ballistics. I have had a number of 22 Hornets over the years and...

    77/22 hornet

I have an 77/22 22 Hornet SS with the 24 inch barrel and laminated stock that is quite accurate for a Hornet. Very consitantly produces 5 shot groups between 0.7 and 0.4 inches at 100 yds with the 40 gr. VMax and Hodgdon Lil Gun powder. The load chronographed at a MV of 2789 fps. The only...

    Ruger 10/22 receiver material

WAYNO I currently own 7 Ruger #1s a 77 Mark II and until recently a Redhawk 44 Mag. and a 77/22, I like Ruger firearms and think highly of them. I also live in a relativly high dust locality where aluminum in a moving surface is not an advantage but a disadvantage for durability. I do know...

    Ruger 10/22 receiver material

If I look at your two examples Kimber 1911 and Sig 239 the type of research I did, visit the manufacture's web page and look at their published specs. would have informed me in each case that the frame of the pistol was alloy and the slide stainless. So in those cases I would not have been "a...
