Yours looks a lot like mine. I was a little disappointed at the barrel's appearance but it shoots great and that's what counts. I guess in the individual barrel fitting only enough is removed to make things lock up properly. Just my thinking.

Leather doesn't "fray". However, what the OP did gives it a good slick edge that is stronger and looks a ton more finished and professional. I believe it's called "slicking" the edge. Nice job, by the way.

Sorry, been out of state for awhile and not near internet. All were 115g instead of 117g. The Remingtons were UMC. I do appreciate the info on whether the lube on the breechface was a problem. I'll use a little the next time I clean it up. Thanks again for the answers and input.

I tried to get an answer to that question about a month ago. Still waiting for some expertise. I suspect the answer is "no way", as I've seen references to parts needing to be fitted by Ruger (barrel at least). One guy was going to see if the slides would interchange but hasn't responded back...

Thanks. That's very considerate of you. I was wondering if the slide/barrel unit would fit and work properly. I don't have either yet, but knowing if it was feasible/possible would help me decide which to get. I'd love the .40 but naturally prefer the 9 ammo prices. Thanks again.

As I understand it the Glock .40S&W can be converted to 9mm with the addition of a third party barrel and 9mm magazine. Is there a comparable conversion for the SR40c to shoot 9mm? I'd love to have that capability.
