I like the full barrel lug on the 617 but the barrel on the GP 100 5 1/2" is pretty heavy and feels nicely balanced so I went with the Ruger. Maybe I'll pick up a 4" 617 down the road.

$299 is a great price, I bought one a couple months ago for $399 from my LGS and saw one for $499 at Bass Pro Shops. Nice addition to my SR9 and SR45. I've put a couple hundred rounds through it so far with no problems.

I picked one up this past Wednesday here in CT. I was #2 on a waiting list for about a month. 2 PC Carbines came in last Tuesday at my LGS, #1 on the list got his and I got mine. Very nice!

My LCP had the same thing happen the first time I took it to the range. I sent it back to Ruger and haven't had a problem since. I'm not sure what they did to correct the problem.
