    Redhawk 7.5" & Grips

Just a quick reply to help others. I ordered some Hogue wood grips and they are extremely huge. My hand is 9 inches from pinky to thumb tip (I normally wear an XL glove) and I have a hard time getting a grip. The wide part on the grip is so far down that your hand is lowered much further below...

    Redhawk 7.5" & Grips

Gotta thank you for the recommendation on these. They fill my hand almost perfectly. They're certainly not as pretty as wood, but I enjoy shooting them much more than looking at them. I'll use these as a baseline when I start looking for wood. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

    Redhawk 7.5" & Grips

Yeah. I'm trying the Uncle Mikes that were mentioned above, but that's just a stop-gap so I can get a good grip and enjoy it. For me rubber grips are a means to an end, but I truly feel that revolvers are far to classy not to wear something nice so instead of checking grips, I need to start...

    Redhawk 7.5" & Grips

Thanks for the response. My question in in regards to muzzle flip and recoil. The further down the grip you hold the gun, the more the gun will torque in your hands. The further up you hold it, the more recoil is transferred to your arm. I was wondering if there was more torquing with the...

    Redhawk 7.5" & Grips

I currently have a 7.5" Redhawk. I'm in love with almost everything on the gun except the grips. My only issue with the factory grips are that the top of the grip is so small, I can't get a solid/comfortable a grip on the gun. All of the Hogue/Badger/Eagle grips (I only want wood grips) look...

    Ruger SP101 .357

Mine pretty much enjoys anything. For light stuff, I'll reload and shoot Missouri Bullet 140gr TCFP over 3.5gr of w231, and for the hot stuff, I like 158gr Hornady XTP's over 15gr of H110, or 125gr Hornady XTPs over 19.4gr H110. (video of the latter here). I pretty much enjoy the entire...

    Ruger sp101 wood grip question.

I use the Hogue Rosewood Laminate grips and I am happy with them. The original grips were too small for me, and the Hogue monogrip was too tacky when wearing, and it was too squishy for me. The wood grips fill my hand much better. and I love shooting it. Have to say, I love how it looks, too...

    SP101 4" 22lr Holster Options ?

I have a simply rugged tribute and I like it. I bought it to woods carry a 4.20" .357 SP-101. It's not a frilly holster, but it is indeed "simply rugged" and I do like it. However, that firearm is no longer my woods carry and would let it go. PM me if it interests you (or anyone else for...

    LCP or LC-9?

My wife has the LC9 and LCR 357. She prefers the LC9 and the grip is good for her, but she shoots the LCR much better. Don't discount it in your search. She prefers the LC9 now, but the slide took some getting used to for her, and she felt the LCP was too small for her. As has been said, if...

    Lc9 ammo?

My wife uses 124gr Federal HST. After reading and testing, I'm comfortable with it.

    4" SP 101 Leather Holster?

Either 4" or 6"... I got the SP101 for HD and hiking. The reason I settled on that was because I wanted the power of .357 in the woods and .38's for HD and the range. Ammo was plentiful "back in those days" (meaning last March) and I had no other firearms then so it was a good option and fit...

    4" SP 101 Leather Holster?

It is. I, too, bought it for HD and hiking, but now that it will no longer fills that role, I wish it was the GP100, but either way I'm far from unhappy. I bought it almost a year ago and it was hard to find then. Pretty much all Ruger DA revolvers (or anything else for that matter) are...
