I think your larger diameter .32 Colt cases were actually .32 Colt "New Police" which is the same/interchangeable with .32S&W Long. As Will Terry said the .32 Colt Short and Long were Heeled Bullet cartridges, .3180 at the case mouth. The .32S&W/.32Colt NP case is .3370 at the case mouth. .32...
I had one on order from 2/13 through 10/13 with my LGS. He had it on order from EVERY ONE of his Ruger Distributors. Nothing ever came available. I finally Gave up in Nov.
Really wanted one, not sure why, just seemed like the thing to have just because.

Don't know what the correct "spec" is on a Ruger. Factory directions that came with my Weatherby AccuMark Mark V (not a Ruger, please forgive me I won it in a raffle) is for 55 Inch Pounds. This is with a synthetic stock with Machined Aluminum Bedding Block for the action.
