    It is not the Convertible. Single cylinder only. Yes it does have the star in front of the trigger guard. I agree, lot of people do not know what the Star revolver is.

    My friend has a Blackhawk 357/9mm which came in a Regular 357 box. But the cardboard box that came with it had the serial number hand written on it, just as you stated.
