    Used blue gp-100

I recently bought a blued GP100 with a 3" barrel and compact grips for $425. I don't know if that's considered a "good" price or not but felt like it was a fair. On a side note: I've never seen a GP100 listed for sale at $250 in any condition.

    No more target tapered barrels?

I was looking on the Ruger website and noticed that they don't offer the Mark III Target with the "heavy tapered barrel" anymore. Is this because of lack of demand for the tapered barrel or just cost of the extra machining involved?

I don't see this as an upgrade on the Mark lll...

That won't work for me, I'm left handed.

    .45 Colt +P

What Claypool said, the potential problem is in the case length. With +P pressure, apparently Ruger does not feel comfortable with it from a safety (lawsuit) standpoint.

I know you're right about this because I read several reviews on aftermarket hammer bushings and a common complaint was that the bushing didn't fit properly. Many people said that they had to use a Dremel to make it fit.

    which is better deal??

Although I use a nylon holster to carry a Colt .380, people say that you should not use them because of possible snags, hangups when trying to draw the weapon.

Rugers Mark l - ll - lll Disassembly

I just disassembled a Ruger Mark lll by watching a You Tube video and it took under two minutes, reassembly about the same. Why do I see so many horror stories about this?

Danno, I'm probably in the minority but I really don't like the magazine dropping all the way out (mine always wind up in the sand) so leaving the factory bushing would probably be best for me.

But a little cosmetic work will make the pistol pretty, I'm sure you can relate to that Zorba

Am I missing something because I don't understand the benefit of installing a hammer bushing on a Ruger Mark III. They say that this will allow you to fire the pistol without the magazine but that would only be one round, what's the advantage? I ordered a " stainless filler" for the loaded...

Ruger emblems are different colors -

Nevermind, I did some digging on the internet and found that the 1999 50th Anniversary magazines were issued with a red background on the emblem. I guess this is good news because i'm sure that these are much more scarce than the regular magazines.

Ruger emblems are different colors -

I traded for a Ruger Mark ll Target which was produced in 1984 and the Ruger emblems are different colors. It has one emblem on the right grip with a silver (SR) phoenix and a black background - No emblem on the left grip - Magazine has a silver (SR) phoenix and a red background - Did the...

When do you really *need* snap-caps?

I could be mistaken but I don't think dry firing hurts anything if there is a transfer bar between the hammer and the firing pin. I know that the older guns, especially those with the firing pin attached to the hammer were not supposed to be dry fired.
