I purchased a Ruger American Predator in .243

I have the same gun & have gotten similar targets with it. What bullet powder combo are you using? Is that a 100 yard group?

    Copper Plated 30-30 Bullets

I ordered two boxes of them . I went back and checked my targets and have some decent 100 yard targets with the load I used. Cary

    Copper Plated 30-30 Bullets

Cabela's has those bullets on sale now for $31.49 a box of 250. That is ~ 13 cents a bullet which makes a good price for plinking bullets. Cabela's has a store in Boise so I can use their order to store option also and save any shipping cost. I mainly shoot my own cast lead bullets out of my...

    Copper Plated 30-30 Bullets

That's pushing those pretty fast. I use Accurate 5744 and chrono them at just below 1700 fps. Are you getting good groups at that speed? Keep us informed on your results.

Looking for opinions, Good Bad and Ugly on Ruger American

My wife had me purchase a .243 RAR in the Predator version for my birthday this year. I really like it and the only problem I have had with it is the magazine would not always rotate the next round up into position. I purchased another mag last week and it has the same problem. Yesterday I...

    Chrono'd the 77/357 today

Welder, I have a Winchester M94AE Trapper in 357 mag and the 16" barrel on that gun really gets the most out of the 357 mag cartridge. Makes for a fun economical rifle to shoot. I cast my own bullets and mine really likes a 180 grain cast bullet with H110 or Alliant 2400. Good out to 100 yards...

    .458 Devastator Article

Another great article. I enjoy each of them. You hold a special place being able to build these guns with your dad and then developing loads for them. Thanks for sharing with us who do not have that privilege.

    30-30 Bullet Selection

Love the old 30-30 cartridge. If you cast your own I found the Lee 113 grain RF nose bullet to be a nice plinking bullet in my 336C. I size it to .311 with one of the Lee sizing dies and add the gas check. I use WW alloy around 15 BHN with AA5744 as the powder. With this combo I don't even shoot...

    IMR 4198

I have tried several different powders in my Marlin 1895 45-70. At this time the two 4198 powders are working the best for me ( Hodgdon & IMR). I was using H4198 until the supply dried up and then have switched over to IMR4198 as I have been able to get it. I am told they are very close but are...

Jimbo357mag Have you loaded any of the 180 grain bullets using the Acc#9? Cary

    powder for .357 carbine reloads

The main diet for my Winchester M94AE with 16" barrel is 180 grain lead bullet pushed by either H110 or All2400. I have worked up loads so either will do the job nicely. Someday I will also pick up some Acc#9 to try as well. WESHOOT2 has been pushing this powder for years on the forums and I...

    Action tork settings

Yes I have one I used just yesterday to install my new Boyd's stock on my M77 MarkII. I have had the tool for several years and it works fine for my use. As already mentioned always store a torque wrench with the setting set at zero. Cary

    Goodbye, GP-100

I have a Winchester M94AE Trapper levergun, GP100 6" barrel, and S&W M620 4" barrel all in 357 mag. I punch paper and plink but no hunting so the 357 mag does the job for my use. The levergun is a lot of fun to shoot in 357 mag and the 16" barrel on it gets more performance out of the 357 mag...
