Has anyone used a service like Shipmygun.com or similar? Last time I sent a handgun, FedEx wanted well over $100 to ship it. I'm getting ready to sell a couple of my 327s and need a more economical option. Any feedback on shipping services is welcome.

You can get new bases from ShopRuger.com. They are the same bases as those used on the No. 1V.

You might take a look at what RJ Renner does with the No. 3. I had him give my 30-40 No. 3 his "Saddle Rifle" treatment and it's a big improvement in handling and feel. As part of the mod, he slightly changed the end of the lever to provide more finger room and I find it much more comfortable...

A surprisingly accurate bullet in this cartridge is the 155 grain Lapua Mega. It produces very consistent, tight groups when I've tried it. For reasonably priced factory ammo, I had success with Prvi, but haven't checked their prices lately.

Your new one doesn't look like the picture on the Ruger website, either. Most of the pictures on the SP-101 page are from the starboard side of the gun, but the photo at the top of the page shows the port side and it does not exhibit the same surface features as your gun. To me that's grounds...
