Dan, I would love to find a Hawkeye shooter at the lower price range. D&T is ok, almost anything as long as it is sound mechanically. I think I told you about the one I sold years ago, raising a family.
Years ago, I fired a 22 SS Six, 6 1/2" bbl, at a 2x4 stud wall. The shot was lengthwise and penetrated through 8 of the studs (16" apart) with the 22mag cylinder. Not very scientific but the solids do penetrate.
They are good enough looking that they'd be welcome to wear here. The right amount of bark for my liking anyway.
The boogered staking is on the upside-down one. Maybe someone tried to tighten that one up.

That's all true. I was just saying I understood where the term Long Colt came to be, especially since long and short were terms used with other ammo. The existence of the use of 45 Long Colt itself shows it was used to identify the cartridge. This was before SAAMI.
