WTB: Holly grips for Single Six XR3-red

Ruger forum member LSCG made some beautiful American Holly grips for me for a 1911. They're yellowing nicely with age and look almost like ivory. He's also made grips for a couple of my Blackhawks and a Bearcat. I've been very pleased with all his work and I know a number of members here...

    A good night hog trapping

Gramps is the best shot I know of with a car. He didn't even have a scope mounted on it. As I recall, he just about cleaned out feral hogs in south Texas in one night!

    Bearcat calibre conversion ?

I met Powers and saw this Bearcat at the Houston Gun Collectors show last weekend. It was beautiful and the CCH work was just outstanding. He used a new model Bearcat and fluted the cylinder.

    Kelly posters

Here's an interesting article on Warner, not only a lion-hunting expert, but a successful rancher and conservationist as well. http://www.nature.org/magazine/archives/new-life-in-the-badlands.xml

    Idiot sueing Ruger

In addition to all the other defenses mentioned here, the fact that Ruger will still convert an OM free, just by asking, should be another tough obstacle for the plaintiff to overcome. I'm betting that the plaintiff lawyers are either gun-ignorant or hoping for a quick settlement for a few...

Ruger Revolvers Most Accurate for You

My most accurate centerfire revolver is an old model .30 carbine Blackhawk, followed closely by a 4 5/8 new model .44 spcl flattop. Most accurate rimfire is the mag cylinder in a 5.5" super single six that belonged to my Dad.

Lightly greasing magazines for EDC weapons: good or bad?

I use a product called Pistol Pro MagSlick on all my semi-auto magazines, inside and out and on the springs. For the first use, you need to degrease the magazine and springs first before applying the MagSlick. It's worked great for me. It's made by Krunch Products and I got mine from Brownell's.

Ruger standard at the Springfield Armory

    Well, it rhymes with Luger.

Rugers Mark l - ll - lll Disassembly

Doug, Ruger designed it that way just to annoy you. I feel your pain--been there myself as have most other Mark owners. What step of the process was causing the problem?

Rugers Mark l - ll - lll Disassembly

I have a Ruger Standard, a Mark I bull barrel and a Mk II. The Mark I & II always require the rubber mallet to get the barrel off the receiver and back on. The Standard, made in '64, lifts right off with no problem and back on in exactly the right position and the bolt stop pin slides in...

Value Request - First Year 22lr Bearcat

The rosewood-looking grips are actually a composite of plastic and I think silicone. They were original to the early Bearcats before Ruger went to walnut grips. Bkat

Value Request - First Year 22lr Bearcat

My mistake--the $935 price is for 3-digits, not four. Contender is right about the 4-digit price. Bkat

Value Request - First Year 22lr Bearcat

The last RENE price list I saw listed a 95-98% four-digit Bearcat at $935.

    Cylinder storage

Forum member j miller makes and sells spare cylinder bags out of felt, modeled after the Ruger bags, but his are stouter. (I'm assuming he's still in the business.). He makes two sizes, one for .22s and one for centerfire cylinders. I've bought several from him and have been very pleased with...

    Weird revolver question--historical.

This was Colt's first double action, the .38 Lightning, followed shortly by the .41 Thunderer, both with fixed cylinders and birdshead grips. The 4.5" and up barrels had ejectors, but the shorter barreled "pocket pistols" did not. Bkat
