I am going to have a hip replacement. I told the Doc I wanted to keep my old hip bone and see if I could make a pair of knife handles out of it. I think it would be too small to make hand gun grips out of it. He laughed at me and said that he takes those bones home to his dog!
I got tired of looking and waiting so I bought a used 7 1/5" Bisley and had a gunsmith cut and crown the barrel to 5 1/5" and remount the front sight. It is very accurate and I am very pleased with it. I like the blued models better anyway.
I saw one running across the parking lot at the truck stop in Albuqerque, N.M. one morning. He made it all the way across to the other side, running underneath many 18 wheelers that were moving around the lot. I got the impression that he had done this many times before!
I got mine today and I really like it! This is what Ruger should have offered for the 45-70 to start with. I really like the heavier barrel and the 26" length. I would have preferred black walnut over circassian but at least its not laminated.
I bought a Ruger Bisley in .22 L.R. It did not come with a Mag. cylinder so I called Ruger to see about getting one for it and they said they would not sell me one because the gun did not come with one from the factory! They said they had complaints from the Ruger Collectors Assn. about...
I bought one of these, but would have preferred a blue finish. I did not want to take a chance that the blue would be made or not. These limited editions are just that! I have been waiting for this 250 Sav. ever since they made the 77 RSI model. I thank Lipsey's for doing this. I am very happy...
When the Ruger Bisley first came out I became an instant fan! I sold all of my Blackhawks and replaced them with Bisleys! I have no regrets. If it's not a Bisley I'm not intrested.
I have killed Big Foots with these cartridges: 300 H&H Mag. 35 Whelen 45-70 and 450 Nitro Express 3 1/4". The only one shot kills were with both .45 caliber cartridges.

I bought one of these today. I would rather have a blued finish but I didn't want to take a chance that it would be made or not. I hope the next caliber will be either a 32-40 Win. or a 300 Sav. in a 1S model with a 26" barrel.
