I have an old vaquero stainless in 44-40 I bought NITB it had .0025” end gap and after sending it back to Ruger to have the throats opened up to .430” from .427” it came back with the same end gap but had to open it up to .004” for black powder. All of my Rugers are under .007”

If the cylinder pin is causing the transfer bar to hang up it is the plunger and spring in the end of the cylinder pin

Ruger has always treated me right have sent several 44-40s back to have cylinder throats opened up and the last one they reblued the cylinder as well.

I could get you halfway there. I have a 7.5” 44-40 that I sent to Ruger and they opened up the throats to .430. It is a blued color case vaquero that I would sell if interested

Got my cylinder back today from Ruger May 26th just over a week including shipping both ways Throat Mic out at 431. Ruger came through
