I've got three Ruger revolvers: a 9.5" Old Model Single Six unmodified, a Stainless Old Army with a 3 digit serial number, and a factory brass grip frame Old Army.
I haven't shoot the brasser - it's never been fired yet - but the other two are wonderful shooters. Both are very accurate and...
Oops - I forgot about this thread
Thanks for the compliments!
Tradhunter - I've been trying different things - made two more holsters for cap and ball Remingtons since this one. I do think I'll be going back to the design for the Mark II however, and making a few more.
I think I'll try...
That's how my gun is modified - the edges on the sight were radiused a little.
Having the sight grabbing a few leather threads from inside the holster when the gun is drawn isn't that big a deal unless, like this one, the holster is lined. But I can easily imagine an unmodified sight wearing...
I see a problem with it too.....well, not for my gun, which has a modified front sight. The reverse chisel of a front sight that came with the gun, however, would split this sucker wide open pretty quickly.
If I wanted to sell them I'd have to come up with some way to protect the holster from...

There are a few different styles of straps that make no noise when the gun is released. I'll use one...
Be careful.....it's an addictive hobby! If you're anything like me, you'll enjoy it so much you'll be making that trip more and more often.
The nearest Tandy for me is an hour's drive and I went there 4 times in a week and a half
Feel free to contact me if you want to pick my brain...
You might want to try your hand at making your own holsters...seriously..
I couldn't find a holster I liked for my Old Army so I got a book, Al Stohler's "How to Make Holsters", did some research online, hit the Tandy store about an hour from my house...bought some simple tools, some veg tanned...
