Yeah, the comparator with the anvil. I have one for each caliber I reload. I was talking about a case gauge which I also have for each favorite calibre— https://www.grafs.com/catalog/product/productId/70685
Neck bushing, you mean a case gauge? What a headache. SAAMI headspace is 1.8006-1.8016". I have a target value of 1.8011" but it seems difficult to get there. I am using a Hornandy comparator for the measurements.
Three.
It's not the rifle.
I disassembled the bolt, looked for obvious issues and lubed last year.
DUH…..
I put the rifle in the vice and I worked the bolt. Nothing wrong there….
It is the ammo.
I resized one. Cleaned it off and chambered it. The bolt was happy!
I grabbed a non-sized brass and...
Absolutely spot on with rearward force….fast, they eject, slow they just fall back into the action.
Next two issues will be bolt and and action lube.
Then, particular attention to reloading and chalbering.

I just received the screw from Ruger.
The specs to reinstall the action requires 90 inch pound torque setting on straight slot screws.
My wheeler fat wrench only goes to 50-60 in pounds and the equivalent ft lb is 7.92 .
I don’t know if I will fiddle with this if I can’t torque it properly. I...
A simple task goes horribly wrong….
I turned it counter clockwise after cleaning a tad too far.
It's all it takes to ruin my day.
Is there an easy way to realign the bolt? Okay is there a hard way to do this?
