Well a new one on the way ...UPDATE

Ordered mine from Ky. Gun Co. on Wednesday for $224.83, not a bad deal ! Was going to be a Christmas gift for my wife, but based on what I have read, I might keep it for myself. Back to (again) shopping for her.

What .45 ACP do you conceal carry most often?

Even though my SR1911 Target is my favorite .45 acp., my usual carry is a smaller, lighter, S & W Shield .45.

    Mark II vs. Mark IV

"I see no reason to upgrade from my 52 y old Standard. It does everything I need it to and on the rare occasion I give it the deluxe clean I don't find it to difficult to get back together." I have to agree! My 1968 Standard still does everything a .22 should do !

ruger security compact vs Taurus G2c

" I do not own the G2, but have shot one a number of times and it is a very nice trigger." "Get a good DAO that is smooth, consistent and deliberate and you have ONE GREAT Trigger. Yes, some triggers are terrible, some very light striker fired triggers are Terrible triggers." Please note: we...

Would you trade a Ruger SR 1911 for a Ruger GP 100 .357 Mag?

In a heartbeat ! Have both, my gp100 is one sweet gun, while my SR1911 (target model) has been nothing but problems - before I finished my first magazine the safety (right side ambi) fell off. I have an AMT hardballer that is more dependable than my SR1911.

ruger security compact vs Taurus G2c

Picked up a G2C Monday, went to the range Wednesday....75 rounds - no failures of any kind - without a doubt the worst trigger I have ever experienced. A Hi Point .380 a friend was shooting was an improvement over the Taurus.

    Rebate question.

"How in the world does it take two weeks for a check to get to you via U.S. mail?" As explained to me by a S&W rep.(these are not my words) they print the checks which are sent to the to a small local Post Office in bulk usually late on a Friday. These bulk checks (usually several thousand at a...

    Rebate question.

Could be one of the worst public relations efforts ever. After many phone calls and e-mails with no response I finally got a real person at S&W. Was told that my rebate submitted May 23, had just been processed on July 28 and the check mailed, and that it would take a "few" weeks for the check...

    Am I mistook?

In the case of my (purchased new in 1968) Standard, yes, the bolt is latched back by pushing the safety up...when I shot it yesterday I had someone at the range ask me how I kept the bolt open.
