Range Report / SR9 Full size

SR9 full size. Love it. This is my favorite pistol right now. I installed a Ghost trigger & fiber optic site, dumped the mag disconnect and did a little polishing. Man this is a sweet shooting pistol. The trigger is almost as crisp and easy as a single action but still feels safer. I have used...

Found some ammo my SR22 doesn't like.

Don't own a SR22 but the Walther P22 didn't like the lower power ammo (like Fed bulk) but loved CCI36gr plated and Stingers. It would occasionally fail to fully eject or just didn't grab the next round. But now after 2000 or so rounds it pretty much shoots anything I load. I believe it needed to...

Ghost Rocket TC...worth installing in new SR9s?

Yes, it was worth it to me. I used the rocket with the file to fit tab. Perfect and smooth. Very happy.

    LC9?

I am interested to know how well it cleans up. I clean mine very throughly after every session ~50-150 rounds. I notice that the area under the LCI needs some extra attention. I probably have ~7-800 rounds so far and it looks as new other than some wearing of the blue on the barrell from the slide.

If you're thinking of buying an SR9...

Understood. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If it "feels" better then it is better, for you. And same for me regarding small for the caliber. That's why I carry LC9. Only 7 rounds though. Good thing we all have lots of choices!

    SR9 Questions

Find egalloway, I believe that's his handle. He's on here pretty regularly and he shoots SR in comp. Don't know what division or anything. Ask him about how his 'ol plastic SR just keeps on going after rounds and rounds in the dust and mud while high-dollar "match grade" guns are jamming and...

If you're thinking of buying an SR9...

No issues here regarding pins working loose. I have had mine (the pins) out 20+ times and have never had them come out when I didn't want them to. And I feel the issues would naturally be worked through as production continues. But nothing guarantees perfection... Now I don't intend to start a...

If you're thinking of buying an SR9...

I certianly understand you being hesitant due to your location. In regard to lightstrikes I can only report what I have observed with my pistol. Mine is a 2011 production pistol and I have never had a lightstrike. In fact if anything I have HEAVY strikes. My primers have deep impressions 0.040"...

If you're thinking of buying an SR9...

+1 on praises for the SR9. Probably over 3k rounds since june. Only problems I have ever had were due to overly high/low loads I tried. Low ones sometimes stovepipe and had a few hot ones fail to eject. All due to the ammo. But it has fed everything I put in it and is a joy to shoot. Every week...

Mag hanging up while being inserted LC9

You might try taking your mag apart and making sure the spring is seated properly on both ends. It may just be binding a bit. It should fit with a 7 in the mag.

Would you buy the LC9 again if you could do it over

Absolutely. I have found it to be as accurate, reliable and carry-friendly as I needed. Yes, I have made some modifications to it to better suit my tastes but even in factory stock form it fills my needs well. As far as "complaints" are concerned one must first consider that every weapon made is...

    ghost sr9 trigger

Ghost Ultimate is the way to go in my opinion. It's still a DAO striker fire but shorter and lighter. Haven't checked the pull weight but it's noticable. I also dumped the mag disconnect safety, polished all the contact points and "squared" the end of the trigger bar "ramp" where it meets the...

LC9 trigger- lighter, shorter and accuracy improved

What a firestorm and debate. Some good points~ others not so good. Each entitled to their own opinions as always. All is well with the mods I made with 100% reliability. I respect the cautions some have raised and as I stated in the beginning of this thread, this is simply what I did and nothing...

LC9 trigger- lighter, shorter and accuracy improved

Don't see how this would be likely.

NEW QUESTION ADDED Light strikin' 9c- after all my bragging

Just a thought but if your mag safety is still in place make sure it is not hanging some. It could drag across the fp if not fully raised.
