I don't know the max 9 but is the striker 100% preloaded?

Is a max 9 striker or hammer fired? Either way I'm thinking a defective sear that let go on its own from movement or bumping or something. Was the safety on?

In my years of shooting various speed competitions that require a draw, I have never seen an AD from a draw. I would venture to say I have done and observed 10s of thousands of draws and first shots with no negative actions. Safety and trigger discipline are drummed in at most match briefs...

Cheap easy way to lighten the trigger on a ruger SA is remove one sides grip, disconnect one of the springs. Done. Gun functions fine. Occasionally swap sides.

I was taught to hold a revolver the opposite of a semi auto. Instead oh as high as possible. The revolver should be held lower on the grips. Works for me.
