    .327 Federal round... Questions....Why?

Disclaimer: I've only shot one gun in .327 fed mag- The 7 shot GP100. That said, I researched this round a lot back when the 3" SPs came out in this caliber, thinking it would be a good addition to the collection. What I found was that it definitely outperforms the 38 & 38'+p, at least on...

    GP100 compact grips on ebay

The upcoming .22 rimfire Geeps are bringing back the compact Lett style grips. If anyone is thinking about cashing in, the time is now. ETA: Here's the pic

Pic of Commandant of USMC shooting Ruger GS32N

He's not. The caption says Special Agent John Michaud.... That would mean he's NCIS, not military.

Buying a new GP100 at LGS - what is a fair price?

    A. Good choice. B. That model seems to be pretty scarce at the moment. C. If you find one, the price should be around $550-$600 before taxes/fees.

    88-89 GP100 357 half lug 4"

That's my very favorite model GP. Congrats. And you didn't get a steal, but you don't get robbed either. $500 seems like a fair deal on both sides.

    Ruger SR9E

The SR series can be had for as little as $370, shipped to your FFL. If the 9e actually retails for $100 less than that (i.e. $270), it will be a hit. And it should sell for that, considering that Ruger lists SR9 mags at $45(!!!). So that's half the price difference alone.

    SP 101 problem fixed

One of the things that I learned (from a couple of different people) when I first got into shooting was: Before loading a live round in any new- or new to you- firearm, you should always clean it, carefully inspect it AND dry fire/function test it. THEN: Your first time loading it with live...

Who's shot lots of Hornady 357 Critical Defense? Experience?

You mentioned that you've had a handful of bad rounds of target ammo from your progressive press. My comment was simply that as long as you don't get a double charge, that's no biggie. Though an unnoticed squib can be just as dangerous. This is the case whether it's reloads or factory ammo.

Yeah, so long "bad round" always means click-> no bang, not click-> "blew up my gun".

Who's shot lots of Hornady 357 Critical Defense? Experience?

Went to the range this morning. No primer (or any other) problems with .38 & 9mm Critical Defense. Didn't get a chance to shoot the .357s.

Just got my GP100 back from being chopped!

Man, that's a sweet looking Geep. My fave has always been the half lug 4", followed closely by the standard 3". But thus looks better than both of those. And that's a great price for that kind of custom work. Congrats!

Who's shot lots of Hornady 357 Critical Defense? Experience?

Wow I'd never heard of this. All my revolvers are loaded with CD rounds. I've only shot a handful through each gun (to verify POI). I'll shoot a couple dozen 38s and 357s next time out to see what happens with the primers. Hopefully I'll get out to my club this weekend. I'll report back in this...

    School me on the SP-101

Here's my DAO .357 And next to its big brother GP100 I can shoot .38s all day and usually put a box of 158 grain .357 magnums through it each range session with no problem.
