    77/44?

I purchased mine last fall for deer hunting. I shot a nice sized doe with it (one shot at about 80 yards) and missed a running coyote (at about 125 yards). It is nice and light, seems very durable, and I'm looking forward to hunting with it for quite a long time. The only thing bad about it...

WTS or WTT: Ruger 77/357 magazine in OH *sold*

*Magazine is sold* I bought a 77/44 and received a 77/357 magazine with it. I would like to trade even up for a 77/44 magazine or sell the 77/357 for $35 shipped via USPS. The magazine is unfired. Pics

New 77/44... please help me with the magazine

I received the correct magazine in today's mail. As luck would have it, the .44 mag fits in there just fine. I also found a pretty good load for deer season, I think. 25.0 grains of H110 over a 240gr XTP. This group was at 100 yards.

    .44 Mag --- Hornady 300gr XTP with H110

I recently emailed Hornady inquiring about the max speed for a 240gr XTP on deer and was told they should work up to 2200fps. I'm looking to work up to around 1900 through my new 77/44 but I haven't found a group size I'm happy with yet.

Obviously not with that magazine. Thanks for your responses.... I was really feeling like an idiot for some reason. I will call Ruger on Monday. It would be great if they sent me two correct magazines.

New 77/44... please help me with the magazine

I picked up a brand new 77/44 Stainless today. I mounted the scope I had for it, touched up the rings a bit, lined up the scope nice and straight, etc. Started looking at the magazine and thought the opening looked small. The back of it says "77/44 Deerfield" but I'll be damned if I can get...
