    10/22 Trigger pin sliding out

just use some simple blue painters tape. or hold it straight up and down when reassembling. If the pins are falling out when it's assembled, ypur stock is hogged out too much on the inside.

Has anyone had Ruger blue their gun?

I have heard now that on the revolvers and pistols they are rollmarking under the barrel. You could ask that they put the roll lettering in a more inconspicuous spot.

    Ruger 44 Carbine trigger????

If you're brave enough to disassemble it, a little fine stoning works wonders. Also, buy 2 extra trigger return springs. on one cut a quarter coil off it at a time and test until the trigger no longer resets after firing. cut the second spring 1/4 or 1/2 coil above that so it is as light as...

    Frontier Barrel diameter in 358

most barrelmakers want .150" on each side of the bore at the muzzle for safety. .610 - .308 = .302 or .151 on each side of the bore if their machining tolerances hold true, the .358 barrel should be around .658" at the minimum, or larger for exactly .150 on each side.

    Help w/ the 7mm Mauser

Having to set the bullet that far out tells me that the throat is excessive (read Weatherby-like freebore). For 1/4-1/3 of the cost of rebarreling, you can have it set back and rechambered.

    44 carbine questions

agreed. The triggerhousing itself is $100 if you can find it (there's one on gunbroker right now). The one I have just got new springs, and a tear down and clean. Amazing how similar it is to the 10/22

    44 carbine questions

I have an extra 44 carbine up for sale or trade. Serial number is 4,7xx second year production. Someone added a recoil pad to the stock, but it is otherwise stock, and has weaver bases on it. Let me know if you want pics.

    Help w/ the 7mm Mauser

that is a ridiculous amount of torque. Most car lug nuts are 75-85 lb/ft. I think you mean 95 in/lb. which is still high. Talk to a couple local smiths. all they have to do is set the barrel back to .005-.010 short, and rechamber to normal dimensions. Shouldn't cost $400 to do that. If...

    Help w/ the 7mm Mauser

If the lands are "way out there" you may have excessive throat length. I shoot the Barnes TTSx line exclusively (Lead Free). I usually load the 140gr TTSX, in front of H414. Barnes lists the minimum of 44.0gr at 2,567fps,. and the max at 46.5gr at 2,719fps. I have the extemded PDF file from...

    77/44 Accuracy

play around with the tightness of the action screws. Check to see if the barrel is free floated If it has a pressure pad at the tip of the forend, mess with layers of electrical tape to adjust upward pressure. Lots of stuff can be done. Just remember. That factory ammo you're shooting is...

    Ruger 44mag Carbines

I got in to the 4,7xx rifle last night, and it was DIRTY. The sear spring is broken, and the rear sight is missing one of the elevation screws. Otherwise, it's in great shape.

    Ruger 44mag Carbines

So aside from the obviously poor stock mod, the 4,7xx rifle would be worth more just as it's older, and does not have the "Ruger Warning" rollmarked anwhere on the rifle?
