    SOLD Whinchester mod# 71

I have one, a deluxe rifle, made in '54 toward the end of the run. It is a hammer on deer. I lucked into a bunch of new factory cases, bullets (200 gr Hornadys) with mine, and then found 7 boxes of factory ammo at a good price. Scott, your price is very fair for a high condition specimen.

    Barrel thread question:

Are the threads on flattop .357 and .44 barrels the same? I have a .44 barrel, wondering if it will work for a flattop .357 to .44 Special conversion. I believe it is a barrel off of a flattop .44 as it is 6.5".

    Bergara bolt action 6.5 Creedmore

I ended up with two 6.5 CM bolt guns, don't need them both. I'm gonna keep the Kimber. I have another Bergara in .308, these are excellent rifles, known for accuracy and durability. This one has less than 50 rounds through it and has shown itself to be very accurate. It has been hunting a few...

    My hollow bolt 257 Robert's.

I had a tang safety 77 in .257. A great shooter. Killed a bunch of deer with it. One day I was hunting some cutover hillsides, watching with my binoculars. My oldest daughter, about 15 at the time, was with me. A big old doe came along a ridgetop about two hollers across from us and bedded down...

    Old powder

I remember Bob Bell doing some testing years ago with original WW2 surplus 4895. The powder was around 50 years old at the time, IIRC. It delivered pretty much exactly the expected velocities in several different rifle loads. I have that article in an old Guns Digest somewhere, I think.

    SOLD Custom C Sharps 1875 40-65

That's beautiful, and an excellent price. I have a Pedersoli (Dixie Gun Works) Sharp's in .40-65, not nearly as fancy as yours. Love the caliber.

    Reading about 38/55

The .375 Winchester is just a .38-55 loaded to modern gun safe pressures. Quite sure either will dispatch deer very nicely out to moderate ranges. P.S. I also like cartridges that are a little "different." My model 71 Winchester .348 gets a lot of looks and comments when I take it to the range.
