My sources on books, in or out of print currently are proving no help whatsoever
with locating it. Using the author's name just yields an endless list of fantasy
novels by a "Jo Clayton" when I used Abebooks search tool so I am somewhat
out of options...........HELP
I ask this primarily as it might apply to the #1 model but it might also apply to
other models, so here goes: chronologically is there a distinct point at which
Ruger switched colors on its recoil pads? I have seen some confusing specimens
that seem to indicate that Ruger went back and forth on...
Measure the size of the rear sight dovetail on a RST4 Standard model for me,
i have one that was inadvertently damaged(the rear sight blade) and am having
some trouble getting Ruger Customer Service to agree to sell me a replacement.
As a result I suspect they want me to send in my 1968 vintage...
Like Bianchi, before they went all plastic fantastic, Safariland made several models
of holsters with a sewn in groove to protect the lining from damage from front sights, as I recall their version was marketed as an SST or Safariland Sight Track,
I had one that somehow went missing some years...
I would dearly LOVE a #1 in .218 Bee, I had a BSA Cadet Martini in .218
while in college and I FOOLISHLY let it get away from me and later learned
that the new owner had it re barreled to .22 Hornet and the news so nearly
depressed me that I gave up accurate single shots of all configurations...
Which is just part of the reason that I sure won't pay through the nose for
Wilson's over priced and under performing trash. I got past the problem by
contacting an for now unnamed major maker and inquired if they used this
technique(in addition to the firearms they sell any part you need for...
You are entitled to your opinions on MIM however Ruger revolvers as you pointed out and most of the
remainder of their products are investment cast NOT MIM. I also suspect that you
have never had an MIM part fail and the fragments lock up a self defense weapon
at the single worst moment...
MIM parts in SR1911s? Say it ain't so Joe, if so I'm going to spend a ton on
aftermarket forged parts for the one I bought, at least I know these are forged.
If anyone knows definitively that the rumor is true and can identify these MIM
parts by name/location, or any other method of id, it...
As it happened, I found one of those VQ packages the spring kit comes in
left over from when I rebuilt an older quite tired MKI and found the item
key on the reverse, VC3RS and the search link on the VQ site promptly
took me there so I ordered a couple for future use. I do have to wonder
why VQ...
I might well have shot my mouth off before double checking my answer, if so,
forgive me please. I have now double checked the VQ website looking for the
spring kit that SGW Gunsmith has confirmed that they do sell but had no luck
SO FAR. I would highly appreciate it if SGW could post a link to...
I am not sure which 3rd party supplier of MK series pistol small parts it is but
I believe that either Volquartsen and or TANDEMKROSS sells a rod and spring
assembly already to drop in, I don't know if Ruger sells the assembly as a unit
or not, here are the links to VQ and TANDEMKROSS...
As in the pin radius on the beavertail? Does the radius on the one Ruger
puts on the SR1911 match other maker's profile so that another maker's
beavertail could be a drop in install? The one on my SR1911 Commander
seems to be somewhat narrower than ones on other of my 1911s from
Baer, Ed...
Thanks Cholo, I now feel much better about the one I'm buying. If it were an 80
series I am committed to buying it and won't renege on the deal but I would then
sell it as fast as I could to at least recoup my fairly low investment in favor of something,
almost anything really, else.
