    Blackhawk won’t Cock

That's exactly what happened to me.

HS-6 for .44 mag. Anyone use it for light loads?

HS-6 is one of those powders that works well in a lot of different calibers, and really shines in one....9mm.

    Leading from plated bullets

There are a lot of ways to remove leading, my favorite (and fastest) way is to slug the bore. Use a plain, preferably soft, lead bullet. Oil the bore and bullet and drive it through the barrel with a brass rod. The slug will push all the leading out along with the slug. You can do the same...

Strength of NM Blackhawk vs Redhawk?

Something I've found and not discussed here is the problem of brass sticking in the Ruger SRH .454 Casull. I own two other .454 revolvers, a Taurus Raging Bull and a Freedom Arms 83. The identical very heavy loads that fall freely from them, will stick in the RSRH. Note here that both the Taurus...

    Bullet Lube

I can't picture anyone using beeswax as a lube straight, it's so hard no lubrisizer could pump it without a LOT of heating.

    45ACP and Titegroup

Titegroup is a good powder, I've found that it's about 5% faster burning than Bullseye.......be cautious.

Nice little tutorial on primer pocket fixes

Good article. Yes, having a set of primer pocket swagers is almost a necessity, especially if you scrounge brass or use military brass.

    Hodgdon HS-6

My main use for HS6 is 9mm, but I have also used it for mid range .357 and .44 magnum. In my experience, it becomes less efficient at pressures below 20KPSI and displays a lot of unburned powder. Keep pressure above that range and it really shines.

    lead 45LC w/Gas Checks

Agreed, but you won't find any Keith design wearing a gas check, he didn't like them. I've been able to push plain based boolits to over 1300 fps. with no leading problems and good accuracy in my .454's, there's no reason it can't be done in .45 Colt as long as the size matches the cylinder throats.

    Home Made 224 55gr JHP

This is what mine look like....not cleaned or polished, but they shoot extremely well!

    lead 45LC w/Gas Checks

I don't know that gas checks are "needed" on .45 Colt loads, but they certainly can be. I have several gas check design moulds, mainly purchased for use in my .454 Casulls. I have used these same boolits in "Ruger only" .45 Colt loads, and they work very well. As stated above, they are loaded...

    Odd Lead Source

I've used a lot of lead from isotope containers and also the lead sheath from dental X-ray film. My daughter works for a dentist and he was glad to find someone to take it, he'd been paying for hazmat disposal. I cast some .45 slugs and did a hardness test, they tested 8.7 BHN and cast very...

    Reloading 454 Casull questions

I mostly agree with the above...... I began loading for .454 around 23 years ago, started out with H-110/WW296/AA#9 in a Freedom Arms 83. I've since acquired a Taurus Raging Bull, then when Ruger released the SRH in .454, bought one of those. I needed a matching rifle, so I bought a Puma 92...

    Powder question

You can't go wrong with Unique. It's not my favorite powder (Blue Dot is), but it works well in everything from 9mm to 45.70. Yes, it is a PITA to throw consistently from a powder measure, but using the "double tap" method on the throw handle, I can get it to accurately meter within .1 grain...
