Love my 44 Spl. Blackhawk but found the black plastic grips much too thin at the bottom. Ordered Ruger rosewood replacements and they are also too thin. Who make grips that are more hand filling than the factory stocks??

The type I am looking for does not use the rear (buttstock) swing swivel. It does use the front swivel. It attaches to the buttstock by wrapping around it and one strap goes over the recoil pad. It forms a type of pocket at the rear of the rifle.

The "sinkhole"- shrinkage at the emblem is unfortunate.

Rarely does a manufacturer upgrade parts like this. The downgrading to save a buck is the norm. Good job Ruger!

Saw a new Blackhawk at the local candy store today and the rear sight had a Ruger "eagle" molded into the top. The sight also appeared to be steel not aluminum. Heard that the Micro sights are all steel, but are standard Blackhawk rear sights now "upgraded??

Is there a gunsmith who can add a banded front sight to a blackhawk in SS. All I have seen require replacing the complete barrel at high cost.
