I never shoot Special ĺoads in my Magnum revolvers.
I have multiple revolvers in .38Spl and .44Spl and shòot them regularly.
I also have multiple revolvers in .357Mag, .41Mag and .44Mag and they have never been fired with anything other than Magnum size brass.
I also have a Blackhawk in .30Carbine.
Highly recommend everyone have at least one.
Fun to shoot cartridge with little recoil. Despite claims by other that it is an extremely loud cartridge in a revolver, I don't find it any louder than any magnum revolver round. I do wear electronic muffs when...
Hi...
I have a couple of flat top BlackHawks in .44Special.
Wonderful sixguns, very well made and accurate. I would probably buy another if I came across one for sale and had the financial wherewithal to make a deal.
Check out Kings Shooters Supply in King of Prussia,Pa.
I have bought thousands and thousands of their bullets over the years.
Shop is about an hour and a half from my house...makes a nice day trip for my son and I on a Saturday. Breakfast and lunch out and check out 2,3 or maybe 4 more gun shops...
Personally, I don't like them at all.
I also do not care for synthetic stocks in general although I do own one bolt action rifle with a synthetic stock out of about twenty rifles. Only exception is my AR15 that my son built for me.
I like blued steel and real wood...no laminates either, just...
Hi...
I bought one of these .30 Carbine BlackHawks a couple of years ago.
My son and I shoot it regularly.
I do not find it particularly loud when using electronic muffs and commercial ammunition, certainly no louder than a full power 125gr JHP in .357 Magnum.
There already is a .375 caliber revolver cartridge.
The .375 SuperMag. Dan Wesson built them back in the day for silhouette shooters.
I own one and shoot it regularly.
Hi...
I run two different loads in my .44Spl revolvers.
My go to load is the Skeeter load...7.5gr of Unique with a commercial cast coated LSWC. This gives good power and excellent accuracy in both of my Ruger flat top .44Specials.
My other load is the same bullet with 6.6gr of Unique. This load...

I have been shooting .44Magnum handguns for decades with moderate and full power loads without any undue problems.
My son shot his first handguns when he was 8 or 9 and by the end of that summer had worked his way up from .22LR through .357Magnum to full power .44Magnum loads albeit in...
I would prefer they produce ammunition, reloading components and firearms for existing cartridges in this economy, rather than introduce new cartridges.
Hi...
I prefer revolvers with at least a 4" barrel. Don't own any snub nose revolvers. The vast majority of my revolvers have barrels in the 5-1/2" to 6-1/2" range and several with barrels up to 8-3/8" length.
Don't have much need for a revolver with a barrel any longer than that. The buntline...
Hi...
I have a 1917 S&W in .45ACP that I bought many years ago. I bought a large number of full moon clips to use with it.
One day I found a couple of boxes of .45AutoRim cartridges at an auction and tested them in my revolver.
Then I bought a supply of new .45AutoRim brass and reloading dies...
Hi...
Having owned and shot a fair number of Ruger handguns over the last nearly 50 years, I believe the finest best engineered and designed handgun they have yet produced is the current Flat top BlackHawks in .44Special. I was so impressed with the first one I owned, a Lipsey's that I ordered...
