That’s a rare early variation with the front sight base soldered to barrel and pinned in blade. Later variations had the screw on front sight assembly. I think your was only the first year of memory serves. Nice snag.

I’m working with a new to me 327 single seven, I have Federal brass, factory Hornady XTP 85 grain bullets. Any suggested loads that will help me get on paper with it. Not looking for top end, more looking for a known accurate load. Thanks.
Great rifles, my go to is a 45-70, I’ve had all the calibers except the Krag. You do need to be careful with the 44 magnum version, I’ve run across a couple that were reamed to accept 444 Marlin. While a useful modification, it does hurt the value.
It is a cool gun. I had a 77 RLS in 243 and another in 308. Having a short barrel high power rifle with porting makes my ears hurt just thinking about it.
