My wife and I just moved to NH 3 years ago to be closer to our only grandchild. Great income tax and firearms laws. In that time and the 8 years before that when our daughter went to school and decided to live here, I have only seen twice where someone was open carrying, once in a Walmart and yesterday at a country road side ice cream stand. NH is a constitution carry state and am somewhat surprised especially since I live and recreate in a pretty rural town. I'm sure there are many carrying concealed, in fact I used to try and spot those carrying. Never could. How is it where you live and play?

Been to NH twice and really like the state... "Live Free or Die".

You need to visit the Sig Academy I took classes there both times I visited....

As for S.C.... Just over a year now if one has a permit they can open carry here... I've yet to see someone do it.

Generally speaking, Texas is an open or concealed state with a permit being optional. Some folks carry open but most don't. I've not yet seen or heard of it being a problem one way or the other. Just speaking for myself, it don't bother me a bit how others do it, or even if they don't.

Open carry is legal in Georgia. Every once in a while I see someone open carrying but not very often. I believe most people around here prefer to conceal.

In my part of Texas, I rarely see anyone open carrying. I would (and frequently do) at home, but I opt for concealed if out and about. Same thing when I lived in Arizona - I seldom saw anyone open carrying.

As for the general public, I think carrying either open or concealed is just a novelty and they usually stop after a while. I've found that carrying for any period of time is a burden... it is a burden I choose to bear but not one to be taken lightly......
Some would probably say I even take it too seriously since I just flew down to Florida last week to once again renew my defensive handgun training....
Going to do my best to make it to the Sig Academy next Summer and probably do the Florida training again too.

I also live in SC and I have only seen one person so far open carry.

I live on the other side of the river from you and have only seen 1 person open carrying in VT, that was in a grocery store. I too, was in a Walmart in NH and saw a guy open carrying.

In North Texas, I have not seen anyone open carry in quite a while. I carry concealed 100% of the time. I have spent a bit of time in Arizona and have only seen 2 or 3 instances of open carry in the Tucson area.

I see open carry at times here n Oregon. I know there are a lot of people with concealed carry permits, but if you can tell- then they're not doing it right. I carry everywhere unless going to an establishment where I'm planning on having an adult beverage. Then it stays in the gun locker in the vehicle. My wife doesn't drink and I have been trying to convince her to get her permit, that way it could be in her purse when I indulge in my cold one- but she is not a gun person and is not yet willing to get her permit. I say not yet because I'll never stop asking.

Open Carry has been legal here forever. I haven't seen anyone do it in over a year.

Up in northern NH you used to see open carrying frequently, down south not as much, but even up North, not as much now, especially since constitutional carry is legal, folks used to open carry when it required a concealed carry permit to do otherwise, now you don't have to advertise it and so most folks conceal carry.

I recently was invited to attend our Sheriff's Citizen's Academy -- basically a course of familiarization with law enforcement practices and personnel in our county. First night, the Sheriff asked if anyone present had a concealed carry permit. Of the 12 present, 12 raised their hands. The group included one 83-year-old lady. Not a one of them had I ever seen carrying, and since open carry for CWP holders went in to effect I have seen no one, anywhere, doing so -- but I know they're carrying, anyway...

In my 13 years of being a PA resident after growing up in NJ, joining the Army and moving to PA, I've seen very very few people open carrying and the law is apparently "open carry by proxy" , basically every answer I get from anyone in LE is "it's not legal nor illegal, just conceal it"

Actually, in PA you can actually be charged with "brandishing" if you're unlucky enough to cause some kind of fuss with an exposed firearm. I wouldn't do it, it's not worth the risk. You draw attention to yourself and if you get in a spat in a line at a carnival or something, now you're a "guy with a gun acting aggressively"

AZ - open and concealed carry legal. Open carry is common in rural areas.

Most anything goes here in rural MO. Still, it's certainly not like Dodge City. Lots more 'casual concealed' than open carry based on my observations. No one really pays much attention unless it's someone playing RAMBO with a gun flopping around on their leg like a fish on a hook--then most folks walk a wide circle around someone that foolish.

Here in rural central Utah where I live, you occasionally see someone opening carrying in public and it doesn't cause a problem. If you did this in Salt Lake City, the story might be different, even though it would still be legal since Utah is a constitutional carry state. I personally carry concealed unless I am out in the woods or desert.

The big thing is How Much wardrobe discipline are you willing to endure. I have settled on Cargo Pocket Carry and Shoulder Holsters for general comfort and ease. I do have IWB's and OWB's but by buying Cargo Shorts and Pants I have an easy Grab and go with an effective firearm. My shoulder rigs can accommodate anything from an enhanced full size to my 357sig Derringer.
