Ruger is making them. There are tons of them on GunBroker. If you must fault somebody, blame the dealers that sell all their inventory online. A Blackhawk in a local retail store may sit for awhile in most locales. Put it in front of a national audience, bidders will run it right up. Free market.

Maybe Ruger isn't making many S/A Revolvers & instead are turning out plastic & AR stuff.
I bought this new NM BH .357 just three months ago from Grabagun for $630 plus tax, shipping & transfer.
Taking inflation into account, it was slightly less than the OM BH .357 I bought new in 1968 for $80.

Ruger is making them.

However,, during covid crap,, they did suffer a LOT of employees out sick. At one point,, I heard as many as 65% out at once.
It caused a LOT of models to get delayed in returning to production.

Agreed. Much catching up is needed. Demand is is still higher than production can support, and the cost of the materials to make the guns have gone up considerably as well.

Well, $100 in 1973 dollars is equal to $715 in 2023 dollars. I bought my first Blackhawk, .41 mag, in 1973 for $119. So I guess today's prices are pretty much right on due to inflation. Don't like it, but not much you can do about it.

Well, I got lucky and no one bid against me. Won a 5.5" Vaquero for $700. No CC fee either. It is a new gun but has a crack in the grip panel. No biggie, I was going to change that anyways. Now for the waiting game.
So yes- $700 guns if you're lucky! 😁

Thats just insane and disgusting to think about! Why no deterrents for frivolous law suits "on the books"?

Trial lawyers make a good living by filing lawsuits over anything and everything, often it seems with the only intention being to elicit an offer of settlement to avoid a more costly legal trial. And the lawyers' associations are big spending lobbyists who have been a major backer of the Democrats for many decades. The real solution is to have what exists in Japan, where there are only a tiny fraction of civil lawsuits as compared to the U.S. In Japan the losing party in a civil suit has to pay the legal costs of the other party. A defendant who knows that they are not responsible for whatever they are being sued for has little reason to offer a costly settlement since if they win the case their legal costs are covered by the plantiff. This keeps most plantiffs from filing frivolous suits and keeps shady lawfirms from pursueing those lawsuits.

At a very minor level I went through a very frustrating experience when I was still working. I had an employee who was kept on full pay for over 6 months despite a non work related illness, but then let go when it was obvious that she could not perform the job anymore and would likely never improve. She claimed, with no basis, that we unlawfully discriminated against her. My company and our lawyers were sure that we would prevail if it went to trial, but we were told that legal expenses for this case would be at least $300,000 and the plaintiff was asking for a total of $150,000 in damages. Over my objections my company offered $125,000 just to get rid of the problem, and the former employee accepted. If the law would have required her to pay our attorneys the cost of the defense if we won the case, the lawsuit never would have even been filed. This type thing happens everywhere, all the time. And gun manufacturers are even more vulnerable than most companies.

Wow enjoyed the posts. Have not been buying since my last purchase of the Ruger American compact 22 mag. 7 years back. Prices are quite shocking. Whether cost of materials or shortage of models has been a factor in hugh price jumps I have noticed a big demand in shooter interest lately which is also to blame.
