I've heard of grip frames from single-six and blackhawks will work but may, (or will) need mods done to the tabs (shortened) to fit. Otherwise holes all line up.

I'm sure someone will be along shortly with more accurate info on this. ;)

Sounds good so far. I will be out looking at some Wranglers this week. I have plenty of spare parts to do some customizing.

In general,, yes,, the grip frame can be swapped around easily. The screw hole pattern is the same all around the SA models.

On older grip frames,, there were little "ear" protrusions that aligned with slots in the main frame. If you got an older g/f,, then you'd have to carefully remove those ears.

Thank you for your reply. I will be looking at some Wranglers in the next few days.

When the Wrangler first came out, having already owned several Single Sixes and a Single 10, I saw no reason to buy one. But then looking around on Gunbroker I saw a few vendors that had a bunch of them had a couple that were consecutive serial numbers. Actually the price for a matching pair was only a couplabucks more than buying 2 separately. I simply couldn't resist.

All I did was replace the grips with some custom Ruger rosewoods. I found an old empty silverware box and made a display case. They shoot so well that I wouldn't change anything else.

The set is the pic in my avatar.
