Welcome, what platform is your 357 max?,as mentioned we like pics.
my Max is a Blackhawk with 10.5" barrel. I posted the serial on Coogs post. This is a recent pick up for me (last week at a gun auction). I'll post pics soon, I just haven't had time with this one yet

Nice snag! I've concluded I plan to get that exact configuration for Christmas.
Wish it would have ever been available in the OM platform but the max came out too late.
Hows the topstrap and forcing cone on your example?

New member here. I have several rugers including 1022, 44mag SBH, 454 SBH , 22 BH and my newest 357 max.
Welcome! I have two question for you: (1) are you able to buy ammo online, seeing how CA had tried to prevent that before, (2) Have you shot you .357 Max much because I have read about the back splash problem when shooting the shorter .357 Mag rounds, and the even shorter .38 special rounds?

As a recent PRK escapee, I can tell you: No, you cannot buy ammo directly online without going through a dealer. You can buy components for handloading online.

I wonder if forcing the ammo purchase thru a dealer (probably an FFL) if that has reduced gun violence at all, and in particular, mass shootings. I wonder what the statistics have shown on this since CA instituted this intra-state purchasing of ammo ban or limitation. It sounds to me like proabition in the '20s, where the politicians somehow know BETTER!. Perhaps they do not own guns or go shooting, but this is curtailing the 2nd Amendment in this case. So, I hope for such a civil liberty restriction that is has real positive results. But I wonder if this has ever been measured.

What part of CA do you live in, and where did you move from? I lived in So CA (LA area) for 7 years, and Northern CA (Bay area) for 18. Now I live in a 'cowboy' state (AZ), and can order anything online, and ammo orders are shipped directly to my house. Gun purchases have to go thru an FFL, but this I do not mind at all, partly because the frequency is so much less than ammo purchases, and it is good to know that not just anyone can buy guns.

I now live in Suburban/Rural Nevada. I came from Northern Ca., Sierra foothills area. A beautiful place. If not for Ca. draconian assaults on my freedoms, I would still be there. The area ( El Dorado County) and the people there are generally pleasant, with traditional values. Unfortunately it lies within the iron curtain of the PRK.

My current situation is pretty much a mirror of yours. Cowboy country where Trump beat Brandon by over 20 percent.

I really don't give a damn about the PRK now. That multicultural , 53 genders stew can keep going down their slippery slope to hell, and it doesn't matter to me.

As mentioned, no online ammo unless they are willing to send to FFL which is hard as it is. I started reloading during Obama days when ammo first went up and I am glad I did. It opened my options as to what I want to buy, meaning I'll buy any caliber I want now. 357 max hasn't been shot yet because I need brass and don't really plan to shoot regular 357/38 through it.

Welcome Hk996. Moved from the Coronado / San Diego area in '86. It wasn't too bad out there yet. I have a Maxie, don't shoot 38, but do some of the 357mag. Also have a Martini Cadet rechambered for the Max. It's a hoot to shoot.
Also reload, started when I was out there as well. Don't cast my own bullets anymore, may have to start back it again it all the components and loaded stuff keeps going up.
Like to see a pic of the max when you get the chance.
Where in CA are you?
