Any bets that if the kids^^^^got that window open that the dog would get between them and the opening, or grab them by mouth on butt to pull them away from the danger? Animals are a heck of a lot smarter than people realize and will protect "their" humans, especially the small ones.

This is Stella. She used to live at the shelter, but then she came to stay with us.

The veterinarian who spayed her, had identified her as a "Golden Retriever."

Made me question his qualifications!

Stella may be any number of things… but "Golden Retriever" wouldn't have been my first guess!

I'm going to go with "Boxer mix."

So serious. Is it your driving or the increasing cost dog food that has her so concerned?

This is excellent here ! One of the few breeds of dogs you can truly trust around children without getting jealous, the good 'ole German Shepherd.
It brings back memories when my cousin had her first child, her parents (my aunt and uncle) set a crib up in her old bedroom for when she would visit. They had a young (pure bred) German Shepherd and that dog guarded that crib day and night, and nobody including her own husband could get near it unless she was with them.

Our two dogs. Maggie the 5 year old female apricot English Mastiff in back! She was the fastest Mastiff in the AKC FAST CAT 100 yd dash last year(male or female), 23 1/3 MPH! She's the 3rd fastest since they started it.

In front is our 9 month old male fawn English Mastiff, named Brix. He weighs the same as the female so far. We expect another 50 to 60 lbs. by the time he's done!

320 pounds of pure slobber! The female is the feisty one!

Very loveable dogs though....
