.32 H&R has pretty much always been a reloading proposition in my experience. It's very economical to reload: small bullets equals more bullets when figuring by weight, thousands of loads per pound of powder, and the cases last forever given the relatively low pressure. Even new cases were relatively cheap last time I looked.

Contrast that with the high price (60c/rd, IIRC) of .32 H&R ammo even before the current mess.

I'm guessing you don't reload, or at least not this cartridge. If the former, I'd trade on another gun with more available ammunition.

32 S&W Long is perfect for target shooting and superbly accurate. It is just about as expensive these days but you may find it here or there. 32 S&W (the short version) works also and 32 acp works for plinking ammo on most guns. (32 acp works well in single action shooting with every gun I have tried it in, but I have gotten some light hammer hits due to the excessive headspace in Charter Arms in double action)

If you have a ruger 32 SA you can shoot 32 acp, 32 sw short, 32 sw long, and 32 hrm. I shoot mostly 32 acp in my .327 blackhawk and .327 single 7. They are a hoot and generally less costly.
just my 2 cents arcee

Try ammoseek.com
I turned up 5 sources for Buffalo Bore ammo, in stock.
Good stuff, but pricey.

I can't find any .32 H&R Magnum ammo searching on-line. It would be for target shooting, not necessarily for self-defense. Anyone have a suggestion who might have some? Thanks.
I assume from your post that you are looking for factory-loaded ammo for target shooting, but I have to echo what some others have said here. .32 H&R Magnum really is a reloader's round, for many reasons. I've been reloading .32 Magnum with commercially-cast 100 grain DEWCs at target velocities and getting amazing groups, literally one slightly-enlarging hole at any distance my aging eyes can line up the sights with the target. And I recently bought 2000 of these wadcutters from a local bullet caster for $60.00😀

This is my wadcutter load for .32 H&R Magnum:
98 gr. DEWC loaded in Starline brass over 2.5 gr. of HP-38/W231.
COL 1.154. Moderate crimp. If the DEWC has a button on one end (which mine does) I crimp into the groove just behind the button on the nose.
I have loaded as high as 3.1 grains of HP-38 with good results. If I was going to use a full-wadcutter as a small-game load, I would go with the 3.1 grain load. For pure target-shooting, I have found nothing that surpasses the 2.5 grain load. This load is a tack-driver in a Ruger Bisley Single-Six 6.5", a Smith & Wesson 16-4 6", an SP101 4", and a GP100 .327 (4" and 6").

I too have found 2.5/231 with a 90 gr wc to be excellent, in .32SWL brass. 3.5 is where I stopped with.32H&R, bit is also accurate hunting load.

Thanks for the follow up!

I've got about 500 sitting on the bench next to the progressive loader! I need to get busy!

Love that Taurus 32 H&R. What seldom seen little jems they are. I too have one (the only taurus I own) but never knew the model #. DOH!
Mine seldom sees the sunshine as I have so many others to shoot I forget about it , so thanks for reminding me to check it out again.
BUT,,,, I would caution about the use of Lil'Gun as this gun is the perfect recipe for forcing cone erosion .
At least do a bunch of "interwebbing "on revolvers and Lil'Gun .
Carry on.

UPDATE ,,,,,Ooops , Dug my Taurus out to have a look and it seems to be a model 741. A smaller version somewhere in between a J and a K sized frame .Probably their .22 frame.
Who knew they made such a variety of adj. sighted 4" 32 H&Rs ,,,,, cool.

Not a bad time at all to be loading the 32. Primers are expensive, but all centerfire uses them, & 22 RF is expensive as well. Otherwise;
- I've seen lots of 32 brass available at reasonable prices.
- Powder is still pricey, but the 32 uses so little.
- I just happened to notice that a lot of commercial casters have 32 bullets in stock.

For a long time I didn't think I needed/wanted a 32. But during the shortages of 12-14 years ago I decided a 32 would nicely bridge the gap between hard to get 22lr & reloading powder. It succeeds, & it looks like I'm preaching to the choir here.

Yep, on same wave length.... I got into the .32 for that same reason.... I call the .32 H&R Magnum cartridge my 'reloadable' .22 cartridge. Zipping out a 78gr RN at 1100fps gets me there, and still feels like the .22 too. Also like 100gr and 115gr bullets, but the little 78g RN fills the bill for what I use the tiny .32 for.

I must not know where to look. Where are you seeing 32 brass?
