Re assembling the gun, the trigger guard and all attached parts are having lots of trouble going back in. I'm making sure the transfer bar is free and clear and it does not bind. I can't get this thing in.

In the event that it finally snaps in, the trigger is completely stuck and will not move. I remove the trigger guard and start this whole process all over again.

Eventually, I purposely left out the transfer bar and pawl and corresponding plunger and springs and it goes in perfectly, the trigger pulls. I put the pawl and transfer bar back in and removed the cylinder stop, and it also allows the trigger to pull. So I assume there is some combination of these parts that are causing the trigger to bind.

Any ideas?

When I first got my GP I (foolishly) decided to take it apart and reassemble. When I tried to put it back together again it was a no-go. After several tries I realized (finally) that I was not quite getting the transfer bar back into its preferred place. After that I place VERY close attention to the bar and its position and have had no further problems (even on my SP). I now know that full disassembly is almost never needed.

It could be that the pawl plunger and spring got interchanged with the cylinder latch plunger and spring. They look identical but are different lengths and will jam up the action if interchanged. As noted the transfer bar if not put in correctly will jam up the works.
