Update: I got another email today wanting dealer info as they are sending a new gun. Went to my dealer and they handled the paperwork with their ffl. I get home and get an email from Ruger again, saying the new gun will go out today, tomorrow or Friday depending on how busy the order department is. Wow very fast service, A+++ to Ruger, should be shooting by next week.

Another update on my gun, just got an email Fed Ex picked up the package today and is supposed to be delived at my dealer before 4:30 Friday the 22nd. That would make 1 week from the time I mailed the gun back to them, till I receive it. I would have rather had UPS but as long as it gets here I will be happy.

I do have a problem with the new one, I got it home and started to clean it before shooting and I noticed the grip on the right side was a little loose. I tried to tighten it and the screw will just spin, the brass fitting in the grip is stripped out. Just my luck seems like, gonna call Ruger again but I ain't sending it in again.

Update, I just talked to ruger, they gonna sent a new grip frame out to me and I have to mail this bad grip frame back to them in prepaid mailer. The lady said they get these complaints on the 22/45 every now and then but not often. She believes the insert wasn't threaded and after looking, I can't see any threads in it. The other three screws are good. A+ to Ruger, looks like I gotta wait to shoot it still.

Another update on the grip frame. Ruger has no timeline when the grip will ship. They said they will have it made to make sure it's right this time and right now they are behind. So it could be a while, was kinda hoping it would be this week since I spoke to them last week but today I was told it could be a long wait. I will keep my fingers crossed that it will be sooner rather than later.

UPDATE: Well it started with a scatched frame that Ruger said needed replaced with a new gun. I got the new gun but then the grip screws had stripped out in the frame on one side. Ruger said no problem, we will send a new frame but to take my grips off as they won't send new grips. Taking the grips off I lose three of the screws down a vent when removing grips. Ruger said we will send new screws with frame. Now today I get a surprise in the mail, my new grip frame came in WOO HOO I can now get it back together. Nope They sent the wrong screws, they screw in loose and stick out past the grips, I believe they sent regular Mark 4 screws. Well tomorrow another call to Ruger and maybe the right screws by next week I hope. Doesn't look like I am ever gonna get this thing together. Ruger tho has been very nice and I give them an A+ for trying and maybe this will be the last hurdle.

And the saga continues.....Please keep us up-to-date.
Oh I decided just to order some screws and let Ruger be, I believe they have been more than helpful by sending a brand new gun for just scratches and I will continue to buy Ruger. I will tell them about the screw mistake so it won't happen to someone else and they will probably will send some out but I ordered some tonight and will have them faster in 3 days.

Thought I would post a shooting update, I decided till the right screws came in that I could use the thicker headed screws to hold the grips on to at least shoot the new gun and see if it will shoot. They have the same threads but the thicker head sticks outside the grip and ain't comfortable if shooting long periods. With rain most of the day I caught a dry spell to run in my back yard. I fired less than 50 rounds but it shot great and accurate, shot at 10 yards and a bit farther. All shots were very accurate with well under 1 inch off hand group. Looks like this new Ruger will shoot like the old one and I will small game hunt with it.

The Mrs. and I stopped by a chain restaurant for a quick dinner. When I unrolled my silverware from it's napkin, it was filthy. When I brought this to the lovely, teenage server's attention, they promptly brought another napkin and set of silverware … which was similarly filthy. This happened a third time. Then, I politely asked for the shift manager to stop by the table. They quickly came by, looked at the dirty silverware, replaced it with a clean set and said, "I'm sorry. We have a dishwasher problem." To which I relied, "One dirty set may be a dishwasher problem; three dirty sets in a row with no one looking at them in advance, is a management problem." In retrospect, I guess that I should have been delighted that I eventually got a useable set of silverware and I should have told all of my friends how great their service was.
