Dad never really liked squirrel and called them 'tree rats'. Mom cooked the ones I brought home and dressed but then I was the only one who ate them.
One time an old Army buddy of Dad;s from Arkansas came to visit and told me he'd take home all the squirrels I could shoot. Probably some game laws broken but I'd bet he went home with no less than 50 dressed, frozen squirrel carcasses. A few years back, the local community building was having a 'wild game' supper and asked for squirrels. Again, might have been a bit of rule bending but I did my civic duty :giggle: .
Maybe cheating to use a 17HMR with 9x scope??

Squirrel is a fine meal. Folks today don't appreciate or utilize them as we did in the 60-70s. I guess life moves too fast and access/opportunity has changed drastically.
