Hey Guys,

There is a "malware" out there that can shut down your computer Monday. On the news today they gave a web site that can check your computer for you. the web site is
www.dns-ok.us
If you get a "green" screen, you're ok. If not there are directions to a site to correct the problem...............I got a 'green screen'..............

we ain't all computer whizzes,so thought I'd pass it on, makes sense to ME??

I know one of you will come up with a 'snopes' BS meter report 8)

I also got a green light and so should be good; More importantly my Free AVAST anti span, antivirus ware, just did another up date to its base program.

I'd better darn well be clean. I just built this PC of mine at the end of April and have regularly scanned it for viruses and malware. I'm clean and I do get the green image.

Seems I heard about this before and did the check, still green. I wonder if it's one of those that can hang around and reoccur from time to time.

My ISP is pretty darned good at tracking this stuff, and I run Norton 360 and Malwarebytes. Interesting how the freebie sometimes catches thing the Norton misses.

I was thinking along those same lines... now the FBI has people volunteering to go a "Big Brother" portal. ....... you Never Know!!

I'd be curious to know of anyone having a "Red Screen" ... both mine were "Green".

Be sure to check your router DNS (Dynamic Name Server) tables if you use a device with the as-shipped login information. (Username & Password) If you changed the login username & password, you're fine.

You can also check your DNS server list by opening a DOS window and running "IPCONFIG /ALL" command.

The link below contains some good info including a list of the rogue DNS addresses. The DNS lookup address is how the sites know to give you a 'GREEN" light if you're clean.
