Can a 45 ACP cylinder be converted to 460 Rowland?

I don't know that I would try that, beings as the Rowland average max pressure is 40k. I would think it might crack the cylinder. ACP+P is around 28k or so. But then again I had heard that safe working pressure is half failure pressure, and the large frame Rugers fail around 60k, so you might be able to without breaking things. I'm sure one of the more seasoned 'smiths here will chime in sooner or later.

Might be doable. It wasn't uncommon to see 45 Colt Blackhawks uploaded to 44 magnum levels. This is what makes the BH platform extremely desireable for customization and modification to more powerful calibers because the gun can take the added pressure. However, I'd consult with a reputable gunsmith just the same. Incidentally, I would love to hear how it turns out! This may be the basis for a multicaliber 45 frame that could include the 45 Colt/ACP/Win Mag and Rowland. FWIW. TPA.

I see on Clark's site where you can send in the cylinder and have it bored for $100.
