I was yak'in with Hittman as he sent me some Redhawk grips for a new "off Season" project and he recommended that I post this "Custom" John Gallagher reconfigured Ruger Redhawk in 44 Mag. I Bear Hunt in North Georgia each year and the long nose 44 Mags and or BFR in 444 Marlin are just not manageable in a long pull up the Brass Town Bald (Blairsville, GA) area I hunt; so I swapped a 10mm Glock for this 7.5" Stainless Redhawk Hunter and John did the Nose Job for me - - Enjoy!

I have some pics of the Crown Job that I'll add later...

Thoughts, observations, opnions and or suggestions as I plan to add some Elk Bone Grips:

But I am looking for some Black Grips, anyone know where I can get some???

I like it. The elk grips will be a nice addition. Please post more photos once those get added.

Nice looking custom!

With the wood grips it looks like a Security Six on steroids now. I like those Butler Creek~Uncle Mikes grips on my .41 and .44 Redhawks.

You interested in selling those scope rings? I don't have an immediate use for them but iffn the price is right I may consider adding them to my stash of misc. parts and such.

Think you'll add a Tyler T-Grip if you keep the wood grips on it?

I am headed that way for Small Game Opener, we camp near the base on a Forestry Service Road...

There are Hogs, Deer and Bear in the area.

I plan to Stick a Pig with an arrow or a .50 Cal Powerbelt the weekend of August 18th!

"Jr." (or Security 44) will be by my side...

Nice lookin revolver. I have thought many times that i would like a short barrel Super Redhawk. In general terms what does this type of work cost? I assume you have the cost of sight removal and remount. Barrel cutting and recrowning. Would this be basic work for most any gunsmith or would it have to be someone who specializes in this type of work? It must also change the balance of the revolver, or is this not a concern?
