Recently, I had a customer ask me to make grips for his magwell equipped 1911. Obviously, I can make a grip flush with the base of the frame without having a magwell, but fitment is important to me so I ordered an Ed Brown Maxi-well for my SR1911. The reason I went with the EB is because the well is removable after install without removing the whole MSH. That way, I can simply drop the well when I'm making grips for pistols without magwells.

Anyways, the Maxi-well arrived today and I couldn't wait to install it. I had already made myself a set of grips without the bevel or MSH cut-out. I'm not satisfied with the fitment of the grip to the magwell, but its good enough for pics, I guess.

Installing the EB Maxi-well was extremely simple. I didn't keep track of how long it took, but couldn't have been more than 10 or 15 minutes. Thankfully, the installation required no filing.

Here are some pics.

I think I'll buy the stainless model.Looks great on your SR1911.

Do you sell your pistol stands? They look great.

Yes, Greg. I do indeed sell pistol stands. I've sent stands to all corners of the Country.. Thanks for asking.
