Drove (in/out heavy rain) to Reeds of Walker, MN 20th annual Rice Creek Gun Fair and sale.......Tough weather but quite a few attndees. Get this: $5 to park!! WTH!! We are there to test, shoot(displayers pay for that ammo), look, lick, drool, BUY, and the customer has to pay for parking? Second WTH!! Must be done so Reed's doesn't have to pay to have this central Minn.(Little Falls, MN) Private Shooting Complex Grounds for this assumed sales and test event. Not the same as having to pay for parking at a Gun Show either..........That said, I visited a large number of vendors, picked up their catalogs and a few patches, decals and instuctional CD's. Visited with Kraig Kolka, Rugers Field Sales Mgr for the upper midwest five states(no grass growing under his feet, I will tell you) and exchanged some notes, info and observations. Kraig is a Super Rep and a real Gentleman...

.....There were 15 SR1911 pistols for sale......$799, with sales tax picked up by The seller. No break on the Rugers offered by what I saw..........Could have test shot a bunch of stuff but did not....I had not a need to stand in the rain and say "Ooh- Ah"......If a rich man, I would have MAYBE sprung for the three consecutive SN SR1911-18800-18801-18802, but with four already in the family, skipped that, especially at full boat retail and this was supposed to be a Sale.........Got there before 9AM and was home before eleven, having driven a bit over 100 miles..........Another scam by a high dollar retail outfit that thinks they are doing you a favor by carrying multiple lines and beating up on the Customer via misleading ads(My Opinion only)I remain less than impressed.

Anyone else attend and get wet?
